In this session you will receive an overview of the SECURE Act, a review of the new distribution requirements, and an analysis of different beneficiary designation options. You will also learn about the new rules for rollovers and the charitable planning opportunities available with the passing of the SECURE Act.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Review the impact of increasing the age for required minimum distributions (RMD) from 70½ to 72
  • Examine how the stretch IRA has reduced from lifetime rollover option to 10-year-rule
  • Evaluate how to use a qualified charitable distribution (QCD)
  • How to use IRA funds in a split-interest trust (charitable remainder trust)
